Why should someone hire you instead of using online booking sites that have their offers?

I am going to refer you to my earlier answer of Brianna's question, which is along the same lines as yours:

People do not book with us simply to save themselves the time and the hassle of finding their own accommodation and planning their own itineraries, although that is one reason people like working with us. While the internet allows people to see photos and reviews of hotels and destinations, it does not give them access to the relationships that we have with other companies in the industry. This access to the travel industry allows us to be able to offer our clients rates that are consistently lower than those you could find on the internet, and that gives our company an inherent value that the internet can not replace.

How can a regular person make sure they're not being ribbed off when they're dealing with sellers in a foreign country?
May 11, 9:16PM EDT0

Working with a local guide when you travel is a great way to ensure that you are having an authentic experience while abroad. The guide can not only give you shopping tips, but they can also give you a more intimate view of the place they call home.

Do you have special offers or discounts for college students?

We do not currently offer discounted rates for students.

What are the most popular destinations with your clients? Why do you think that is?
May 11, 2:44PM EDT0

New York City, London, and Bali are popular destinations, and they tend to be the best at what they are famous for - whether that is a big day out on the town, or a relaxing day at the beach. These cities are well accustomed to hosting visitors, and thus have become very good at accomodating travelers.

While our main offices are located in London, we also have agents located in five countries across three continents. We frequently travel to other countries for our work and we do the majority of our work virtually, so the entire world is our office!

What are frequent flyers miles? How can a person get them and how can they use them?
May 11, 10:24AM EDT0

Frequent flier miles are a kind of reward program that helps you accumulate points while you travel or spend money. These points can then be traded in for air travel and other services.

Many airlines and hotels have rewards programs that you can sign up for free of charge. To reward you for your loyalty, the company gifts reward points to your account each time you do business with them. These points can be based on the amount of money you spend or the distance you travel.

The more often you stay at the same hotel or fly with the same airline, the more points you will accumulate. Imagine each mile you fly earns you one "frequent flyer mile," for example. You can then redeem these points for discounts on future flights by trading them in for airline miles.

For somone who is new to the world of these rewards programs, I would recommend looking into the Star Alliance and Oneworld airline alliances. These two major rewards programs will award you points when you fly with any of the dozens of airlines in their alliance, and you can be a member of both with no penalty.

What is the level of accomodation that you provide? Does it have a range depending on one's budget or do you only deal with a certain level of hotels?
May 11, 9:36AM EDT0

While we most often work with luxury accommodations, we happily work with clients on any budget.

What is a personal favorite destination of yours and why?
May 11, 9:01AM EDT0

Hi Ana,

As I mentioned earlier in the AMA, visits to South Africa, Morocco, Cambodia and the Ukraine stand out in my mind.

My study trip to South Africa as a 15-year-old was my first trip outside of North America, and really sparked my interest in travel. And there is something about the music there that is really stirring.

I visited Ukraine during a politically tense time in the winter of 2013, and was struck by the strength and warmth of the people living on the streets in protest.

I loved the people and the culture of Cambodia so much as a traveler that I relocated from New York City and stayed for four years.

And Morocco stands out as an overall incredible and exciting country for me. Spending a handful of nights under the stars in the Sahara Desert remains one of my most moving experiences.

Do you organize internal tours in London besides your work in other countries?
May 11, 8:52AM EDT0

We book London holidays regularly, and would happily plan a tour for anyone interested in visiting London!

What are some of the famous Asian cuisine that a traveller must try when in Asia?
May 11, 8:43AM EDT0

Asia is such a vast continent! Here are a few of my personal reccomendations:

In Kunming, China, I would reccommend a bowl of under-the-bridge noodles.

In Shanghai, you cannot visit without trying xiao long bao soup dumplings and spicy mapo tofu.

In Penang, Malaysia please try a steaming bowl of breakfast laksa.

In Hokkaido, Japan be sure to try a bowl of ramen with butter and corn.

In Laos you can eat sticky rice and larb with your hands, as the locals do.

In Cambodia, you should try the classic fish amok soup served in a hollowed out coconut.

I also recommend trying a green curry in southern Thailand and a red curry in northern Thailand. And I would suggest you also order a mango fruit shake with your curry, as they tend to be on the spicy side.

Bon appetit!

Is that how you travel? That blue heli looks so cool! :)

May 11, 8:34AM EDT0

We do not always travel by helicopter, but when we do, we prefer that it's blue!

To answer your question more seriously, we like to plan unique activities for our clients whenever possible to ensure that each trip is really and truly unforgettable. Helicopter rides are not only a unique way to travel, but they also give our clients a unique vantage point and a new perspective!

With the progress of online reservation and being able to explore what you want to see in a company before getting there, do you think travel agencies will become obsolete one day?
May 11, 8:30AM EDT0

People do not book with us simply to save themselves the time and the hassle of finding their own accommodation and planning their own itineraries, although that is one reason people like working with us. While the internet allows people to see photos and reviews of hotels and destinations, it does not give them access to the relationships that we have with other companies in the industry. If a client were to spend a week in a country as a tourist, would you advise them to visit one city and explore it for the entire week or move around between different cities?
May 11, 6:52AM EDT0

For a trip to a new country, we would recommend spending 3-4 days exploring two cities, and then returning to the places that piqued your interest in the future to explore them again in more depth.

Happy travels!
